Welcome to the Troop 232, Atlanta, GA website.

Troop 232 is Atlanta's High Adventure Scout Troop.  Sponsored by the Northwest Presbyterian Church since 1964, Troop 232 has served the Atlanta Community with an award-winning scouting program that emphasizes outdoor adventure, teamwork, and leadership.  With over 100 scouts ages 11 to 18 years old and more than a dozen trained each of Scoutmasters and Committee members, Troop 232 offers an active fun-filled year-round program.  Troop 232 welcomes boys from all backgrounds and faiths.

Troop 232 meets every Monday night at 7:30 at NW Presbyterian Church, 4300 Northside Drive, Atlanta, GA 30327, in the Scout Hut.  Please come visit us.

Dec. 3-4 Ziplining Campout Sign-up Form, Waiver & Fee Due at 11/28 Meeting. Scouts are encouraged to learn 8 Knots for Contest.

Meeting on 11/28 -- Activities include:

Campout sign-up, which requires turning in on Nov. 28th: 1) sign-up form, 2) fee and 3) signed waiver(s) for campout participation. Dads are encouraged to join for ziplining and camping, plus we need help with additional drivers / vehicles. Monday, Nov. 28th is the only sign-up date. Log-in to see and download below attachment for sign-up form, waivers and fee info.

There will be a Patrol vs. Patrol Knot Tying Contest -- Patrol with lowest elapsed time wins prizes. Log-in to see and download below knot diagram sheet for learning 8 knots. Go to AnimatedKnots.com to learn how to tie these knots. Use menu button, “Knots By Name,” to select applicable knots.

There will also be an optional test for 5 qualifying knots to earn Yellow Rope (or testing if have learned additional qualifying knots for a more advanced colored rope). Same attachment referenced above highlights Yellow Rope knots (just 5 knots). Log-in to see and download attachment for the more advanced qualifying knots / colored ropes within our T232 Knot Program. Again, all knots can be found on AnimatedKnots.com.

Campout Program December 3rd - 4th -- Highlights include: Aerial obstacle and ziplining courses at Callaway Gardens. Camping in drive-up Pioneer sites 4 miles away at FDR State Park.

Activities for Next Two Meetings 11/21 & 11/28 Prior to our TreeTop Adventures / Ziplining Campout (Dec. 3 - 4, 2016)

There are two action-packed, fun meetings before our Dec. 3-4 campout. Please make every effort to attend both meetings (11/21 & 11/28) as activities are closely integrated.

Meeting on 11/21 -- Activities include a 12-minute Scoutmaster recon video of the Callaway obstacle and ziplining courses, instructions on what to pack for cold weather camping, review of T232 Knot Program, knot tying instruction stations to learn qualifying Yellow Rope knots, and practice for 11/28 meeting’s Knot Tying Contest (Patrol vs. Patrol -- great prizes for winning Patrol). Log-in to see below attachment for 8 knots Scouts will need to practice for Yellow Rope and contest. There’s a link reference on it to a really cool web site: AnimatedKnots.com Videos are super easy to follow to quickly learn the 8 knots.

Meeting on 11/28 -- Activities include: Campout sign-up which requires bringing sign-up form, check and signed waiver for campout participation. (Dads encouraged to do ziplining and camp.) There will be an optional test of qualifying knots to earn Yellow Rope (or advanced colored rope, if Yellow or others previously earned), and a required Patrol vs. Patrol lowest-time-wins Knot Tying Contest.

Campout Program -- Features include: Aerial obstacle and ziplining courses at Callaway Gardens. Camping in drive-up Pioneer sites at close-by FDR State Park. Sign-up forms and waivers (adults & Scouts) will be handed out at 11/21 meeting. (Will also send sign-up documents via email with more details for those unable to attend on 11/21.)

Hey all, my name is Luca Maddaleni and I am a life scout here at T232. I will be working on my Eagle Project, this saturday, from 10 to 4. Lunch will be served at 1, and any help will be appreciated. Scout Dues for 2016-2017

2016-2017 Scout dues were due on September 15th.  Thank you to everyone who has paid.  If you have not yet paid please do so as soon as possible or let us know that your son will not be active in the Troop this year.  Dues notices with a return envelope were sent out four weeks ago.  If you have misplaced yours or did not receive, the amount due is $250.  The check should be made payable to Troop 232 and should be mailed to Sharon Lynch, 5687 Long Island Drive, Atlanta, GA 30327.  Please help us eliminate the need for follow up emails and phone calls.
