Welcome to the Troop 232, Atlanta, GA website.

Troop 232 is Atlanta's High Adventure Boy Scout Troop.  Sponsored by Northwest Presbyterian Church since 1964, Troop 232 has served the Atlanta Community with an award-winning Scouting program that emphasizes outdoor adventure, teamwork, and leadership.  With over 80 Boy Scouts (11 to < 18 years of age) and more than a dozen trained each of volunteer Scoutmasters and Committee Members, Troop 232 offers a safe, active, and fun-filled year-round program.  We are also proud of all our Scouts, especially our 230+ Troop 232 Eagle Scouts who are continuing to benefit their respective communities as leaders and men of honor.

For younger boys and girls interested in Scouting, we strongly recommend visiting Cub Scout Pack 232, also sponsored by Northwest Presbyterian Church.  For more info or to join, please contact the Pack’s Cubmaster, Keith Hasson, at cubmaster@pack232atl.com, or visit pack232atl.com.

Both Troop 232 and Pack 232 welcome youth (and volunteer adults) from all backgrounds and faiths.

If you are interested in joining Boy Scout Troop 232 (Scout and/or volunteer adults), please contact our Membership Officer, Mike Ehrle, at membership@troop232atl.comor our Troop Committee Chairman, Jim Caldwell, at committeechair@troop232atl.com. They will be happy to set up an appointment at one of our Troop meetings.

Troop 232 meets every Monday night in our Scout Hut at 7:30 pm at Northwest Presbyterian Church, 4300 Northside Drive, Atlanta, GA 30327. Please visit us for a tour and to experience one of our meetings.

We further encourage you to read our "About Us" page (see left side "Menu") for an historical perspective, an overview of our programming, and more info on how to join Troop 232.

Philmont High Adventure 2021

Posted on Mar 30 2020 - 11:43am

Attention Troop 232
Hope everyone is doing well during these interesting times. It is already time to start thinking about 2021 High Adventure. Troop 232 has been fortunate to win a lottery position for Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. I personally attended Philmont twice as a youth and it was a great experience.

Some of the details are as follows:
Our 7-Day expedition will arrive at Philmont on: 6/13/2021 and will depart Philmont on 6/20/2021

The 7-Day Reservation fee is $720.00/person with payment schedule as follows:
Deposit of $100.00/person due 4/15/2020
Advance of $310.00/person due 10/1/2020
Balance of $310.00/person due 3/1/2021

Keep in mind that 8 participants are required for a minimum crew. We can add participants up to a maximum of 12 in a crew (includes youth and adults) through 3/1/2021.

A crew requires a minimum of 2 adults, 21 years of age or older, with a strong recommendation for 3 adults and 4 being the maximum with a majority being youths.

Youth need to be 14 years old OR 13 years old and completed 8th grade by 6/13/2021.

FEES noted above do NOT include transportation to and from New Mexico. In the past the troop has flown into Denver then rented a van for the drive to Philmont.

At this point we are gauging interest and needing to collect deposits from scouts interested.
If you or your scout are interested please let myself and Sean Dacey know by April 7th.

Parents’ Info Meeting Monday, March 9, 2020 at 7:30 PM

Posted on Mar 6 2020 - 12:10pm

Dear Scout Parents,

Please attend our Spring Troop 232 Parents’ Info Meeting on Monday evening, March 9, conducted at the same time as our regularly scheduled Troop Meeting. The Parents’ meeting will be held in the Adams Room on the Northwest Presbyterian Church campus (specific directions below). We’ll start at the same time as our Troop meeting and be done at least 15 minutes before the boys are dismissed.

See attached Agenda.

When: Monday, March 9, 7:30 - 8:45 P.M.

Where: Northwest Presbyterian Church - Adams Room, within The Family Life Center building. Walk up the driveway from Scout Hut lower parking lot towards the Sanctuary. Enter double doors to The Family Life Center building at end of courtyard (where we conduct our Fall, Winter & Spring banquets). Adams Room off hallway to the right and first door on the left.

What: An opportunity for all parents to meet with some of the leaders of Troop 232 and learn more about our program, expectations, resources for parents and Scouts, history and traditions, and how you may volunteer your time / skills. We’ll share input about rank advancement, campouts, youth leadership, NYLT, Skymont summer camp, and much more. See attached Agenda.

We’ll have a Q&A session at the end so you’ll have an opportunity for us to address any specifics not adequately covered in our presentation. Or, you may follow-up later with our presenters.

Who: All parents are encouraged to attend. New parents should definitely plan to attend. Every year in Scouting presents new opportunities / challenges and the need for our continued guidance and input.

Why: You’ll be better educated to provide appropriate support, encouragement, a helping hand and sometimes, a little more pushing for rank advancement, so your son (s) can get the most from the Boy Scouting experience.
