Welcome to the Troop 232, Atlanta, GA website.

Troop 232 is Atlanta's High Adventure Boy Scout Troop.  Sponsored by Northwest Presbyterian Church since 1964, Troop 232 has served the Atlanta Community with an award-winning Scouting program that emphasizes outdoor adventure, teamwork, and leadership.  With over 80 Boy Scouts (11 to < 18 years of age) and more than a dozen trained each of volunteer Scoutmasters and Committee Members, Troop 232 offers a safe, active, and fun-filled year-round program.  We are also proud of all our Scouts, especially our 230+ Troop 232 Eagle Scouts who are continuing to benefit their respective communities as leaders and men of honor.

For younger boys and girls interested in Scouting, we strongly recommend visiting Cub Scout Pack 232, also sponsored by Northwest Presbyterian Church.  For more info or to join, please contact the Pack’s Cubmaster, Keith Hasson, at cubmaster@pack232atl.com, or visit pack232atl.com.

Both Troop 232 and Pack 232 welcome youth (and volunteer adults) from all backgrounds and faiths.

If you are interested in joining Boy Scout Troop 232 (Scout and/or volunteer adults), please contact our Membership Officer, Mike Ehrle, at membership@troop232atl.comor our Troop Committee Chairman, Jim Caldwell, at committeechair@troop232atl.com. They will be happy to set up an appointment at one of our Troop meetings.

Troop 232 meets every Monday night in our Scout Hut at 7:30 pm at Northwest Presbyterian Church, 4300 Northside Drive, Atlanta, GA 30327. Please visit us for a tour and to experience one of our meetings.

Benton MacKaye Trail Hike & Campout February 22 - 23, 2020

Posted on Feb 8 2020 - 6:16pm

Please download three attachments (see below) for upcoming backpacking campout including photos of trail highlights, items to purchase / pack, and recommended alternative water purification methodologies. The troop will be hiking section 2 of the Benton MacKaye Trail covering 12.2 miles over two days. Section 2 of the BMT is located between Blue Ridge, Ellijay and Suches, GA. This section offers a 50 foot waterfall, numerous streams, beautiful mountain vistas and a magnificent foot-bridge. We will camp Saturday night near the Toccoa River Suspension Foot-Bridge (260-ft.), which is one of the longest suspension foot-bridges east of the Mississippi. Scouts and adults must carry everything needed (e.g., food, water, water purification method, backpacking stove, cooking utensils, tent, sleeping bag, extra clothes / layers, etc.) as this will not be our typical "drive up" camping and each scout will be responsible for cooking their own food along with a buddy. This will be a non-uniform campout. Sign-up for this campout will be on Monday, February 17th.
